The General Student Committee
(AStA).<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

The General Student Committee (AStA) is one of the central bodies of the student union. Here, students are continuously involved in improving study conditions for everyone and strengthening the exchange between the university and society.
With a great deal of personal commitment and initiative, the AStA plays a key role in shaping student life at our university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alongside the Student Parliament (StuPa), the AStA is the most important body of student self-governance. It consists of various departments, each responsible for different areas such as social affairs, culture, or higher education policy.

The department heads are elected by the Student Parliament.
The AStA meets regularly in sessions that are open to the university community. The dates are announced in advance by email.
All students are warmly invited to attend, ask questions, or simply drop by. The meetings usually take place in a hybrid format\u2014both on site and online.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

As the Executive Committee, we manage the affairs of the student body and represent it in internal and external university committees.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Department for Anti-Racism<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
\n

We actively oppose discrimination and exclusion. Our department organizes workshops, campaigns, and counseling services to promote diversity, respect, and fair coexistence at the university.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Department of Education<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The department offers a range of events dealing with higher education and serves as a contact point for students who would like to express their ideas and wishes (e.g., study evenings, information evenings, opportunities for stress relief, etc.).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Department for Student Council Affairs<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The department is staffed by the FSK chair, who represents the interests of the student representatives in the AStA and coordinates a dialog between the two bodies. The Finance Department supports the Chief Financial Officer with bookkeeping and the preparation of the budget and annual financial statements and is available to answer any financial questions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Department for Equality & Diversity<\/a><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

As the Department for Equality and Diversity, we are committed to diversity and good coexistence on campus! We are currently primarily committed to gender equality and the visibility of LGBTQIA* people (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Trans, Inter, Queer, Asexual, Aromantic, Agender) at the EUF. We also take a clear stance against racism, ableism, classism and other forms of discrimination.<\/summary>\n

In our work, we are dedicated to advocating for the interests of students and planning events (workshops, lectures, parties, movie nights, etc.) in connection with the above-mentioned areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Department for University Policy<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Department for University Policy deals with the following tasks:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Representation of student positions in the political field vis-\u00e0-vis the institutions<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. communicating the content of examination and study regulations<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. exchange with other ASten on university policy issues, e.g. as part of the Schleswig-Holstein State ASten Conference<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. participation in political congresses<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    Department for Infrastructure<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
    \n

    The Infrastructure Unit supports the Executive Board in redesigning the campus grounds or campus premises. It is also responsible for accessibility and digital infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Department for Internationales<\/h3>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

    In the Department of International Affairs, we focus on ensuring that our university lives up to its name \u201cEuropean University\u201d: Specifically, we understand this to mean making our contribution to projects with an international theme or organizing such projects ourselves so that international activities are further promoted at our university. Other initiatives include offering projects and content for international students, e.g. to make it easier for them to integrate and make contact with local students and to provide assistance with any problems that may arise.<\/summary>\n

    Current projects:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

    eMerge<\/em>:<\/strong> One of our current tasks is to coordinate the \u201ceMERGE\u201d project (on the student side with the other student representatives from all partner universities), the aim of which is to network different European universities with each other, both in the area of research and teaching and to encourage cultural exchange between students. To this end, we take part in the regular meetings of the eMERGE student forum (ESF). Further information on the universities participating in the project can be found at Link<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Model United Nations (MUN):<\/strong><\/em> Model United Nations is a simulation of a UN conference in which all participants take on the role of a country delegation to debate and find a solution to a topic of international relevance. Together with the Department of Political Education and the media team of the International Office, we plan to establish a MUN club that will meet regularly throughout the semester to debate in MUN style.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The AStA Culture Department offers cultural diversity for student life in Flensburg!
    With us, you can experience a wide variety of events that make student life more colorful and exciting. Our goal is to bring you together with a diverse cultural offering and create space for exchange, creativity, and new experiences.
    We are therefore particularly pleased about our cooperation with K\u00fchlhaus Flensburg, where events such as Open Mic and the Night Flea Market take place regularly\u2014formats where you can get involved yourself or simply enjoy the atmosphere.

    Hi, my name is Lena and I was born in Flensburg. I am studying for a Master of Education degree to become a teacher at comprehensive schools and have been involved in the chemistry and GuE student councils for a few years. There I realized that I really enjoy planning events and would like to continue doing so in the culture department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Mathis<\/strong>
    Hi, I’m Mathis, a BA BW student studying DSP & Philo. Since 2021, I’ve been hosting Open Mic at the K\u00fchlhaus, was part of the organizing team for the first Kunst & Ekstase (now Oslo Ekstase), and currently have a dream of organizing a campus festival in the summer of 2026, which will require a lot of planning between now and then.
    My passions are theater and music. I love to live out the latter with my band \u201cKommando Pimperle.\u201d What I like most about culture is when people come together in unique ways that cannot be artificially replicated!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Moin \ud83d\ude42 Ich bin Oli, 23 Jahre alt und komme aus Berlin. Ich studiere seit 2022 die F\u00e4cher Sport & WiPo an der EUF. Neben dem AStA Kultur Referat bin ich noch in der WiPo- sowie der P\u00e4dagogik-Fachschaftsvertretung aktiv. Mir bereitet das Planen von Events und Veranstaltungen gro\u00dfen Spa\u00df.
