Student Council Conference
The Student Council Conference (FSK) is the joint representative body of all student council representatives at Europa-Universität Flensburg.
It brings together the individual student councils and ensures that information is shared, ideas are coordinated, and projects are organized collectively.
The FSK serves as an informational body, a coordinating alliance, and an open forum for discussion for all student council representatives.
Here, shared interests of the student councils are collected, discussed, and represented at the university level—for example, in dealings with the AStA, the Student Parliament (StuPa), teaching staff, and the university administration.
Student council representatives (FSV) represent the interests of students within their respective academic programs. They are important points of contact for subject-related questions, problems, or ideas and advocate directly for students within their degree programs.
To ensure that cross-disciplinary issues are well coordinated, the Student Council Conference (FSK) exists. It provides all student council representatives with a shared platform for exchange, cooperation, and for speaking with a strong, unified voice.
A member of the FSK chair holds a special role: they coordinate the academic and subject-related concerns of the student councils with the AStA. In practice, this means that, upon nomination by the FSK, this person is elected by the Student Parliament (StuPa) as the AStA officer responsible for student council affairs.
More specifically, the FSK:
- exchanges views on shared challenges and problems,
- coordinates events across different student councils,
- represents the interests of the student councils vis-à-vis other central university bodies.
For example, the FSK may deliberate on how much funding should be allocated to student councils in the budget and issue a recommendation to the Student Parliament.
The FSK meets at least twice per semester upon invitation by its chair. It is composed of the student council representatives themselves and elects a two-person chair.
