
Reimbursement of contributions
You can submit a refund request to us under certain conditions, namely if one of the following reasons – see a)-h) – demonstrably applies to you.
Every complete application MUST ALWAYS include the following documents (copies/scans):
– the completed and signed refund form
– the transfer receipt for the semester fees for the semester to be refunded, i.e., the semester for which you are submitting the request,
– a certificate of enrollment for the semester to be refunded, i.e., the semester for which you are submitting the refund request (can be found in Studiport/EUF Portal)
PLUS the relevant proof(s) for your reason for reimbursement – see a) – h).
1. You can submit a refund application for the semester ticket fee to us if one of the following reasons demonstrably applies to you:
Please note – not using or not needing the ticket is not a reason for reimbursement!
Please note also: We do not refund the contribution to the Studentenwerk SH – you will have to take action a second time and submit an application. You can find all the information here -> https://studentenwerk.sh/en/student-union-fee .
a) If you have a severe disability/public transport exemption
We require a copy/scan of your disability card and a copy of your token or proof of free transport..
b) If, for study-related reasons, you are spending at least 3 months of the semester at an institution outside the ticket’s area of validity,
i.e., you are outside Germany, e.g., on a semester abroad as proof, you can submit a copy of your internship contract, for example.
c.1) If you are a doctoral student with permanent residence outside the area of validity
(proof 1 – registration certificate for your place of residence), i.e. outside Germany, plus a current semester certificate from your doctoral supervisor (doctoral advisor) stating that you do not have to be physically present on site or that your presence in the area of validity is not necessary (proof 2 – from your supervisor, current for the semester to be reimbursed and stamped).
c.2) If you are a doctoral student and can prove that you purchased a job ticket for the first four months of the respective semester
(proof via bank statement), you have the option of submitting the amount of the semester ticket to us within the fourth month of the semester (only a short period of time!).
In the spring semester, this is in June, and in the fall semester, it is in December.
Please note: There is a separate reimbursement form for this.
d) You are unable to take up your place of study due to an unauthorized visa
To do this, we need, for example, proof from the embassy where the application was submitted or confirmation from the International Office.
e) Double enrollment
if you are enrolled at two universities. required evidence:
– transfer receipts for the semester fees paid to both universities
– enrollment certificate from both educational institutions for the semester to be reimbursed,
– your sworn declaration that you have not submitted a reimbursement request to the other university
– an confirmation from the AStA (Studente Counceil) of the other educational institution confirming that the applicant has not submitted a refund application there.
2. You can submit a refund request for the student union fee and semester ticket to us if one of the following reasons demonstrably applies to you:
f) You are on leave from your studies
Proof: Certificate of leave of absence from studies issued by the Student Services Office
g) You have withdrawn from your place of study
proof from the Studiport/EUF Portal
h) you have completed your studies
proof: de-registration certificate

FAQ
Who is eligible to apply to AStA for social exemption or reimbursement?
The person who is/was enrolled at EUF – NOT the person who paid the fee.
Unless there is a corresponding power of attorney with proof.
Where should I send the application?
Submit the completed application (refund form PLUS all required evidence PLUS enrollment certificate for the semester to be refunded and proof of payment of the semester fee)

Do you also refund late fees or registration fees?
We do not refund late fees or registration fees
Do I have to fill out all the documents again and submit the supporting documents every time I apply?
Yes. If you submit a refund application more than once, you must submit all updated supporting documents for EACH semester, plus the form for the respective semester.
Why should I submit an application more than once?
For example, if you are taking a leave of absence from your studies for more than one semester because you are raising a child, or if you are working on your doctorate for more than one semester, or if you have a proven severe disability – every semester, every time! Or if something changes for you during your studies, etc.
