Semester contribution.

re-registration periods

contributions

For the spring semester, you are generally required to transfer €379.30 to the Student Union, unless you can be partially or fully exempted by us.

As the payment reference, you must indicate either “2026.1” or “FrSe26” + your matriculation number.

The contribution fees for the spring semester 2026 are as follows:

Contribution to the semester ticket including the Germany Ticket: 60% of the full Deutschland Ticket price in Spring Semester 2026, amounting to €208.80

Contribution to the Schleswig-Holstein Student Union: €89.00

Contribution to the student body: €20.00

Contribution to the social fund: €1.50

Administrative fee: €60.00

payment

The payment is made by bank transfer to the Studentenwerk Schleswig-Holstein, in one sum, i.e. all fee components of the student body and the Studentenwerk are added together (see above). This is summarized once again on a page of the university, including the bank details of the Studentenwerk and the intended use.

The payment must be credited to the Studentenwerk account by the last day of the re-registration period. If this deadline is missed, a further €25 late fee must be transferred in addition to the fees. To another account! This can also be found on the university website. .

What happens to my money?

You transfer the semester fee to the Studentenwerk account by the deadline –

see EUF homepage: https://www.uni-flensburg.de?id=40720&L=2#c160300

The Studentenwerk records its share and provides feedback to the Student Secretariat. The remaining money is forwarded by the Studentenwerk SH to us, the AStA, always as a total amount, without us being able to know who has already paid and how much.

We settle accounts with nah.sh four times a year for the semester ticket.

The exact procedure between the Studentenwerk and the Student Secretariat is not known – here is an estimate:

The Student Services Department informs the Student Secretariat who has made a transfer (which is why the purpose of the transfer is important), and the Student Secretariat then activates everything for the coming semester and books it in the Studiport/EUF portal, including for Shibboleth – if the data in Shibboleth is correct, nah.sh can load your ticket. Within this process, we at the AStA have no way of intervening or reading/viewing any personal/individual information. If you do not transfer the correct amount, things get tricky. Please make sure you transfer the correct semester fee. Due to the fluctuating prices of the Deutschlandticket, there are fluctuations in the semester fee, among other things.

How do I get my semesterticket?

FAQ early Master’s degree

Do I have to pay the semester fee twice?

No, only once. As you can read above, you would pay for two semester tickets. Nobody needs two tickets for public transport.

Do I pay before or after admission?

Within the re-registration period (01.06. – 30.06.).
If you do not re-register, you will be de-registered from the Bachelor’s program. From then on, your Bachelor’s grade (and other examination grades) cannot be entered. Therefore ALWAYS re-register!

I’m just waiting for my Bachelor’s grade – do I still have to re-register?

The same: ALWAYS re-register! In the worst case, the grade cannot be entered.
If you are only waiting for your BA grade and then do not continue your studies in the Master’s program, you can have the semester fee refunded. More information here.

Do I have to pay the enrollment fee?

You only have to pay the enrollment fee if you are new to the campus.
Are you transferring to us from another university? Yes!
You are currently doing your Bachelor’s degree and are also doing your Master’s here? No!

The EUF portal says that I haven’t paid yet – but I transferred the money last week!

Administration sometimes need al little more time. You have written the right amount to the right account, with the right subject? Perfect!
If the Student Secretariat contacts you, send them a proov of your transfer.

Significant improvements in Reimbursement of contributions and exemption from contributions

In cooperation with the university and the student union in particular, we were able to achieve significant improvements in the area of contribution exemptions and refunds.

On the one hand, we have pushed back the deadline for fee exemptions by one month. Together with the later end of the re-registration period, students who are entitled to a partial or full exemption now have one and a half months more time to submit their application. It is also important that we have been able to reorganize the administrative processes with the other parties mentioned above so that we no longer have to make a hidden advance refund, but can implement a genuine exemption from the obligation to pay contributions (= exemption from the obligation to pay).

And finally, we have included other cases in the area of exemptions where the situation is clear and/or there is a legal obligation to avoid payments, e.g. with regard to semester tickets for people who are demonstrably unable to use public transport due to a recognized severe disability, or for so-called double degrees and trinationals. In addition, students with a recognized severe disability and a token covering at least 15 weeks of the semester in question can be exempted. In the latter case, even if the deadline for exemption is missed, the possibility of a later refund remains.

We are particularly pleased that we will also be able to treat early leaves of absence as contribution exemptions from the January 2024 re-registration period. This will save everyone involved a lot of time and effort.

Please note that both contribution waivers and refunds are subject to different deadlines! Please read the articles.
